Okay guys, welcome back for a new round of bracket battling excitement! I'd like to thank everyone who participated in our last battle, without you guys, it would have been really lame... well, lamer than it was already, anyway. This time around, I've made some changes, the most obvious of which is that we've moved on from cartoons (congratulations Eric Cartman!) and are battling robot against robot!

Now, even though the Cartoon Bracket Battle was a lot of fun, it was still a bit of an experiment and I've learned a lot from running it. As an initial run, it showed some flaws with the system and I've made adjustments accordingly.

The official rules for the Robot Bracket Battle are as follows:
  • Eight battles will be run per week to speed the process up. No more of this 17-week marathon shit.

  • Ties will be decided by the number of total votes a Battler has received in all rounds up to, and including, the round of the tie in question. Ties in the first round will be decided by coin flip and you're just gonna have to trust me on that... unless you have a better idea. Email me.

  • I will no longer pre-eliminate battlers from the running because of perceived "bracket-killer" status. Free-for-all baby!

  • For variety's sake, as many sources for battlers as possible will be represented. So, if your favorite character isn't involved in a battle, but a compatriot from the same genre/show/movie etc. is represented, that's why. Complain all you like. Once the participants are set, the bracket is final.

  • Criteria for voting is entirely up to you, the voter. Additionally, we no longer make any "best of all time" claims. The over-all winner is the official "most popular battler in this particular bracket on DaddyMonkey LIVES!" champion. They get a car and a cash prize as real as their dreams!

  • Vote as many times as the system allows you to.

  • New battles will now begin on Wednesdays and close on Tuesday night at midnight.

That's the basic idea. Also, it should be noted that "robots", for our purposes in this particular Bracket Battle will include everything from actual real-world robots like NASA probes, to humanoid "living machines" like androids, to piloted anthropomorphic battle armor like Robotechnology, to artificially intelligent vehicles like, say... a talking car. No minor cyborgs or clockwork humanoids... a dude with a bionic hand, or a wind-up toy just won't cut it. Sorry, we had to draw the line somewhere.

WEEK 6: MORE ROUND 2 ROBOT ACTION!

ROBOT vs. Gort

Lost in Space ROBOT

Info: ROBOT knocked sci-fi icon Robby the Robot out of contention in the first round.

Pros: 60s robots practiced free love.

Cons: Hope you like being robopregnant.

Gort

Info: Being sexy, german, and from the 20s couldn't save Maria from being beaten by Gort.

Pros: Classic sci-fi robot with eye beams.

Cons: Being ruined by Keanu Reeves this Christmas.

Robocop vs. Terminator

Robocop

Info: Robocop made quick work of Maximillian in the bracket's first round.

Pros: A gun pops out of his leg!

Cons: Eats nothing but baby food.

Terminator

Info: Judge Dredd's ABC Warrior robot was no match for the T800 in round one.

Pros: Can time travel as long as there's a little skin involved.

Cons: Is too stupid to go back and kill a guy when he's a baby.

ASIMO vs. Robosapien

ASIMO

Info: Honda's ASIMO is functionally superior to Omnibot by multiple orders of magnitude.

Pros: Very human-like.

Cons: Hiding something disturbing behind that black face shield.

Robosapien

Info: Nintendo's R.O.B. couldn't get past a robot monkey. There are few who can.

Pros: Robot monkey... weren't you paying attention?

Cons: Should be gorilla-sized, not lemur-sized.

Biohazard vs. Spirit & Opportunity

Biohazard

Info: Biohazard used his flipping arm to knock the bomb squad PackBot out of the running.

Pros: Titanium construction.

Cons: No flame throwers.

Spirit & Opportunity

Info: Poor Roomba got its ass vacuumed up and spit right out of the competition by the Rovers.

Pros: Doing science on another friggin' planet.

Cons: 35 million miles overdue for an oil change.

Dot Matrix vs. A.W.E.S.O.M.-O

Dot Matrix

Info: After taking out Rosie, Dot Matrix is the only female jewish robot left in the battle.

Pros: Shiny.

Cons: Mistaken for a fire hydrant by mogs.

A.W.E.S.O.M.-O

Info: Somehow, the kid dressed as a robot beat the ACTUAL robot from Hitchhiker's Guide.

Pros: Very convincing.

Cons: Still fucking fat.

Tom Servo vs. Bender

WALL-E

Info: The Britbot, Kryten was no match for his U.S. opponent in round one, Tom Servo.

Pros: Gets to make fun of movies all day.

Cons: Has to put up with Gypsy.

Megaman

Info: Bender, showed he was MORE pimp than the Pimpbot 5000 in their last round match-up.

Pros: His best friend is a dumb guy from the past.

Cons: Is stupider than a dumb guy from the past.

Mr. Roboto vs. KITT

Mr. Roboto

Info: Daft Punk losing in the first round to an 80s reject is a travesty I tell you. TRAVESTY!

Pros: Has 80s street cred.

Cons: Was the subject of a Styx song for Pete's sake.

KITT

Info: KITT turbo-boosted his way over HAL9000 to secure a place in the second round.

Pros: Has 80s street cred too!

Cons: Constantly hassles the Hoff.

Gay Robot vs. Starscream

Gay Robot

Info: Swished and twirled his way past the Fox Sports Robot in round one.

Pros: Bright and flashy color scheme!

Cons: Thought that you said that you were gay.

Starscream

Info: Leader 1 deservedly got his ass handed to him by a REAL transforming robot jet.

Pros: Ambitious and sneaky.

Cons: Has the dumbest schemes ever.
